THE WINDOW LADY : UPCYCLED , HANDMADE UNIQUE CLOTHING MADE IN OAKLAND CA AND IN THE WOODS OF PLUMAS COUNTY

Picture

Janay Rose aka "The Window Lady" uses all recycled materials, inspired by colonial menswear, as well as 1800 -1980's clothing and fashion history, and her experience from working in various costume shops over the years. The Window Lady clothing has a psychedelic organic theatrical feel,  best  known for necktie clothing & hats. Featuring ornate details of lace, spoons, measuring tape, clocks, keys, fringe, buckles, antique buttons, etc. She also incorporates silk screened patches of her window displays and box art. Her creations have been sold in the Bay Area in a variety of boutiques for the last decade. Her work has been showcased in various photo shoots and shows, including The Yard Dogs Roadshow, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum and Vermillion Lies, and more.  When Janay is not sewing on her boat or in the woods she is designing window displays, writing music and making box art that shares the same macabre and inventive aesthetic.
